Become a Pen Pal

Become a Pen Pal

Guys…we’re still in the midst of a pandemic. And while other countries have successfully bent the curve, we haven’t. Our numbers are scarily climbing up. And we’re still in the first phase! So we really should be staying at home as much as possible. If you find yourself bored in the house and in the house bored, then maybe it’s time to try a new quarantine hobby. Why not become a pen pal to someone living in an assisted care facility?

Social distancing has been difficult for a lot of people, but it has especially taken a toll on residents of senior care and assisted living facilities. Due to restrictions, residents are unable to receive their normal visitors leaving them vulnerable to loneliness. Social isolation is a major concern for seniors since studies have proven that it can negatively impact their health leading to depression, functional decline, and can even shorten lifespan. So let’s put pen to paper and send out some love.
