So here we are. It’s 2020 – a year in which no one could have ever predicted, but one in which will have profound impacts on the world for years to come. As I continue to reflect on this crucial movement towards Black equality and justice, I challenge myself to find new ways for Briogeo to do its part in supporting lasting change. ⁣ ⁣ Things won't ever be "business as usual" at Briogeo because we are constantly evolving, making improvements and finding new ways to be thoughtful about how we can make giving back an evergreen part of our business model.⁣ ⁣ We will continue to support the #blacklivesmatter and racial equality movement by increasing our financial aid to @aclu_nationwide, @blklivesmatter, and @mnfreedomfund. We will also match all employee donations to organizations that support the #blacklivesmatter movement. We will also double our commitment to our local community by providing another 50,000 meals through the Food Bank For New York City.⁣ ⁣ I want to be even more thoughtful and impactful, so I will take some time this summer to do deeper research and heart-work into what our evergreen commitment will look like. I'll report back here so that I can share with you the full plan that I feel most passionate about and that will have the most meaningful impact through our mission as a company. I want you to be part of this journey with me – so please comment and share organizations that you feel passionate about that relate to race equality and education & empowerment for the underserved.⁣ ⁣ Thank you for the kind words of support and encouragement as I’ve opened up and shared my story over the past few days. Aside from the opportunity to better introduce myself to the customers and fans of Briogeo, this has been a heartfelt opportunity for me to help inspire others, especially aspiring Black pioneers and entrepreneurs. I want you to know that even if you feel like the odds are stacked against you, with love, grit, passion and relentless persistence, MAGIC is possible.⁣ ⁣ I hope to “meet” many of you at my IG live this Tuesday at 1pm ET, where I’ll also be announcing our latest product launch….!⁣ ⁣ The End. The Beginning.⁣ Lots of love,⁣ Nancy⁣
