Escape Halloween 2023

It’s that time of the year when the veil between our world and the spirit realm thins, and ghouls, goblins, and witches come out to play. That’s right, Halloween is upon us, and what better way to celebrate the spooky season than attending Escape Halloween in style?

For Day One we actually got our shit together and went with a theme – Barbie, of course. You know, I thought I we all agreed that this year was gonna be Barbie-ween. I was expecting to say “Hi Barbie” to so many festivalgoers. But alas, we only ran into one or two other Barbies and a handful of Kens. I did end up with a lot of Barbie themed kandi though.

Anyways, I debated between cowgirl Barbie (I had my white cowboy hat from EDC) or rollerblading Barbie and ultimately went with rollerblading Barbie (sans rollerblade of course).

For Day Two, we got comfy in some skeleton onesies and attempted to paint our faces with some skull designs. The music and the vibes on the second night was just as amazing. The standout set for me was DJ Snake.

Escape Halloween combines, music, art, and creativity. Whether you’re Barbie or a skeleton, the crowd is welcoming and diverse. It was a weekend of camp fashion and spookiness. If you’re thinking about attending next year, don’t hold back on your costume choices. Be whoever you wanna be – as long as you can still dance it in, you’re all good. I saw so many creative costumes. It was great!

Until next Escape, keep the spirit alive, and let your costume shine!
